About Fascia Blasting

In recent years the treatment of fascia has exploded in popularity. The idea is that the fascia or the myofascial tissue contributes to pain and cellulite when it’s tight.
For this reason, fascia manipulation, a technique that aims to loosen the fascia through physical manipulation and pressure has become a trending topic in the health and wellness realm.

What is fascia?
Fascia is a continuous layer of connective tissue that covers all of our muscles, bones, organs and nerves. It’s made of collagen and help gives form to your body.

When fascia is healthy it’s flexible enough to twist, glide and bend. Inflammation and trauma can tighten the fascia causing pain.

Fascia pain can be associated with:

  • Myofascial pain syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Lower back pain

How it works

The fascia blaster was invented by Ashley Black. It involves a hard plastic tool with claw like structures attached to it.
It is meant to be massaged all over the body, one area at a time after the fascia is warmed up with a heating pad or a hot shower.

  • Apply oil after warming the area
  • Rub the blaster on your skin in a scrubbing motion, making sure you do not go in a circle, only back and forth and up and down
  • Continue for 2-5 minutes per area
  • Repeat on other area as needed
  • Drink plenty of fluids afterwards
